We have done A LOT of research on adoption agencies. It is a scary process, especially considering all of the adoption horror stories and bad reviews that you will inevitably run across while doing your research. We finally decided on the Independent Adoption Center for our agency. Why? The thing that we connected with the most is the fact that they don't discriminate. They work with heterosexual couples, LGBT couples, and single parents. Our road to parenthood has been extremely challenging and it was so refreshing to hear that an agency is willing to work with ANYONE that wants to be a parent. We also loved that they are agency that has been at the forefront of open adoptions.
We attended an introductory workshop and felt reassured that this might be the agency for us....
